Configure and Execute Batch Comparison
Use
Batch Comparison
dialog to set up, schedule and start the batch comparison.
Note:
Batch Comparison is affected by Comparison Options, SQL vendor specifics, Filters, Conversion Rules and Database Connection Objects Settings
Set-up Batch Comparison
- Select object pairs to be compared
- Tables from both databases are shown in the
Left Table Name and Right Table Name lists
- For each table, you want to compare on one of the sides, select pair object (from the cell combo-box) on the other side
- Check the check-box near the table name – specify that you want to compare the pair
- You may change the order of the selected pairs,
using "up" and "down" arrow buttons on the tool bar
- Select what you want to compare, using check-boxes in
the Comparison Options area. For more detailed
specifications, use Options button and review
Structures Comparison tab in the Comparison
options dialog.
- Report – in the Comparison Report area chose where do you want to have the report – In the Report XML file OR/AND on the screen.
- Scheduling –you can Schedule the Comparison Execution.
- Check the Scheduling check-box
- Specify the Start Date and Time, you want the comparison to be started on
- For repeated Compare processes, define Frequency
- Press Run Scheduling . Cross-Database Studio will be minimized to the tray. (Use right-click on the icon to restore the application)
Note: Scheduling available while the application is active. When the application is closed, the Scheduling is disabled. If you want to renew the Scheduling, reopen the application and restart the option.
- Strategy
- Strategy is a complex of all the parameters,
defined in Batch Comparison dialog
- There is an option to Save Strategy for later usage
– Use Save Strategy icon on the tool bar
- There is an option to load Saved Strategy – use
Load Strategy icon on the tool bar.
- Run – if you do not want to use Scheduling, use
Start button to execute the batch comparison immediately
