Compare Primary Keys
The Compare Primary Keys option allows comparing primary keys, defined for the specific table.
Before you execute comparison:
- Set-up Comparison and check SQL Vendor Specific Options
- Check Convert Master check box (under the main tool bar) on the Source database side. See Conversion Rules
- On both sides (trees), Connect to Database (one database on each side)
- Expand Tables node on both Database Connections (one connection on each side)
- On each side select the table you want to use
To compare the primary keys:
- Right-click on table name (on one of sides)
- From the mouse menu, select
Compare->Primary Keys

From the mane menu select
Compare->Table/View->Primary Keys
OR
Use Compare
Table/View Primary
Keys icon from the tool bar
OR
Drug one table onto another and use Compare Primary Keys menu
If the Comparison Options are configured to save the result to an output file, you will be asked to provide the file name. For more information, see Comparison Options
Understanding the Comparison report:
- If Primary Keys, defined for the tables, are identical, only the information message is returned
- If the tables have different primary keys,
Primary Keys Differences dialog will open.
- Red font – different primary keys
- Blue font – primary key defined only for one table
- Black font – identical information
